        Hi folks!

Not really a question, so much as a curiosity. Bonnie looked like she was having some gas pain last night so I went to the pharmacy and got some infant mylicon. Like most bunnies, I would assume, Bonnie hates being syringe fed. So the first time I picked her up and my dad gave her the simethicone. The first dose didn’t seem to do the trick so I had to give her another. By that point my dad was already asleep and I was on my own. Not wanting to stress her out and trying to avoid any new scratches, I put the syringe in front of her face while she was on the floor. To my surprise due to past failed attempts, she came right over and began trying to lick it all up! I was able to easily syringe feed her without having to hold her or put her in a bun-rrito. Has anyone else had that experience? Is there something in the simethicone rabbits just like? I got the unflavored, dye free version if that makes a difference.

Wick enjoys simethicone too, and it’s a common preference for rabbits. Sometimes, just the act of being “forcefed” can turn a rabbit off of something, even if it’s something they enjoy. It’s great that she likes it though! Makes future uses much easier.

My bun doesn’t like “normal ” simethicone. He hates it and so did my other rabbit. I now use a British brand, infacol. It has orange flavor and Bam can actually take it voluntarily. I have to import it myself though, it’s not sold here.

I’ve never had a bun willingly take simethicone, even though the brand I use (Ovol) has a nice, minty smell. But to be expected as I usually only give simethicone when they are not eating.

My buns are about 50/50 on it, some love it, others hate it!
