        Hi everybun!

This is my first post here, and I thought I would make it a nice light topic. My hamlet, a netherland dwarf, loves to grunt to communicate. He will do it when annoyed, when he is excited for food, wants more head rubs, ect. Of course he does this when pissed as well.

He also loves to do these little small hops and shake his head real fast when excited. Usually it is when I am carrying his salad over to his room, or I come over to shoo him away from the cat. He displays so much joy! It’s hard to describe but it’s like a flick of his head.

I’d like to add he does this all while completely healthy. In fact, if not feeling well, he won’t do what I love to call the head binky. So my question to you guys: do any of your babies do this as well?

Yes, that’s a head binky. More accurately, it’s an expression of energy so it can be happiness or frustration (like after you shoo him). Very much normal!

Edit: OH! And welcome to BB!

Thank you! And yes, I wasn’t concerned, just wondered if he was a crazy boy, or if it was just a bunny thing. Never seen it before. Was this always called a head binky? I thought I was being original. Lol

It makes sense, too. He can be filled with energy sometimes.

My bun will honk loudly to communicate haha! It’s quite hilarious and adorable. Some buns are just more vocal than others. Welcome to B.B.!
