So it kind of depends on his personality. If he is neutered, then he would be less likely to rip and injest stuff. Have you ever put a blanket and other soft stuff in his pen and around where he runs to see if he’s even interested in it? I put blankets and pillow in my buns houses and they would rather lay on the hard floor, besides one bun, he loves to push blankets around haha.

He should have a hidey house. I use cardboard boxes from Walmart and cut holes in them and mine love to rip it to shreds and it’s such a cheap thing to rebuy. Mine don’t love toys so I can’t help you there but you can always experiment with stuff when you are home and if you feel that he is safe with the items then they can go in his pen! I know a lot of buns like the ikea doll bed, which I will be getting soon but you may need to make his pen bigger if you get large items.

Our bunny doesn’t care about toys at all. She likes a good willow branch ball and will occasionally chew her sea grass mat, but mostly she is just interested in bunstruction and is always renovating her condo. We give her plenty of toilet paper rolls, cardboard, and random scrap paper anyway

Our boys don’t really play with toys per se. We have one who is totally into bunstructing any and everything! They have a cardboard hidey house. They do have the ikea dollhouse bed, which is nice because they can chew it too. They enjoy paper towel and toilet paper rolls. They also have apple sticks that it took them all of a month to become interested in. Now they crunch them often. Cardboard is a nice thing for them to destroy. Oh, and my boys don’t like to chew seagrass mats. They dig when they are under their cardboard hidey house at the fleece in their cage. I put the seagrass mat over the fleece and they now love to dig sea grass mats apart.

That’s so funny because it took a while for Luna to show any interest in her seagrass mat and we also had to trick her into using it by strategically placing it in spots she was already chewing and digging. She still hates the mat we got at the pet store, but loves the one I found on Amazon. 

I used to house my buns on vinyl because indeed some buns might eat the fleece. My buns ate the loose fleece blanket I gave them so I figure’d they’d have a go at fleece bedding too. However, I’ve been housing my buns on fleece for 2 weeks now and they leave it alone. I think it’s because they can’t dig it into a pile because I tucked the edges under their flooring. They dig at it every now and then and nip at it (and then realize it’s stuck I guess :’) ) and then leave it be. I would say just try it, you will notice soon enough if your bun is ok with it or not.

What to put in the pen to keep your bun entertained is depends on your bun. Some buns like plastic balls, some like throw toys, some like chew toys and others ignore everything. I would maybe get a plastic ball and a chewable ball first to see if your bun is interested in plastic toys at all and if he likes chewing the chewable ball. If he chews it, you know you could buy more chew toys. Avoid things with honey, seeds and whatnot as those can upset bunny tummy, but if it’s hay based/wood based it’s fine to give.

I had the same issue. My bun didn’t seem very interested in much. But he loves his twig igloo, willoe rings, sisal ball, anything cardboard. Old phone book. One of the things that helped me was i tried out a subscription box wich gave me a few different bunny safe organic toys and then i was able to see what he liked the best. He likes the seagrass mats when he way a baby but now he just pees on them. He spend a lot of the time in his litter box on top of litter,bedding, and hay.
