        Hi everyone,

My two buns are in love with their sandbox I made them. Since they have not been outside and I do not want to risk it, I bought a patch of Bermuda Sod from Home Depot. However, I didn’t consider whether it is safe to give or not. Right now, it is in a box lined with a trash bag so that I can water it, etc.

My Frankie is a little over a year and is getting into so many things out of boredom. Right now, I am training them both to do tricks but I’ve noticed the sandbox gets him focused.

Is this sod safe to give? I know grass is (especially when grown indoors).

Here is a link to the one I bought: Home Depot Bermuda Sod

I can’t find anything to indicate it being treated with chemicals- just that it’s a variety with deep roots which is ideal for that type of product…..

Bermuda grass is safe for rabbits I believe. Would your rabbit attempt to eat the dirt?

They haven’t attempted to eat the sand, so I think they’d avoid the dirt as well.

So, I set it up and let them interact with it. Junie likes it and jumps in. However, Frankie keeps thumping at it which I didn’t expect at all. Not sure why that is happening.

It could be scent related. Depending on where the grass is cultivated, it could carry with it scent of predators!

                  Oh! That makes sense!
