I’ve been giving liquid antibiotics to my bun, and over the course of the past two weeks we’ve managed to accidentally get some on her head and her chin (getting her to take it is a struggle.) It’s dried and stuck together. Is there anything we can try to get it out besides warm water? Warm water just isn’t doing it. (We’re not bathing her, we’ve been taking a damp wash cloth to the affected areas.)

Also, she has dried snot around her nose (which is why we were prescribed antibiotics.) Warm water isn’t helping for that either. If we have to cut off the hair that’s stuck from the meds, what can we do about her dried snot?

        Thanks!

A warm cloth is really all I would do once it’s dried on like that (i’ve been in this exact situation but with critical care…). Over time she will groom it away as the hair grows out.

It might not get it all at once, but the warm cloth will slowly help, and will help her groom it away. I wouldn’t trim fur around the head and chin for something like this.

I agree with DanaNM, a warm wet towel should melt the sticky meds and let it come off. Also, make sure she is on pre and probiotics when on antibiotics

You could try using a finer flea comb and see if the dried meds can be combed out (gently of course). If it doesn’t budge then avoid force combing it out as that could hurt.
