Just curious if anyone on here knows if it is possible to give a bunny too much of a probiotic like Benebac?  I wasn’t paying enough attention when I was unscrewing my tube of benebac to give one of my buns their dose today.  Then when I was squirting it into her mouth, it seemed like a lot (she loves the stuff so she was slurping it all up).  I am assuming that whatever doesn’t die or take up residence in her gut will just get pooped out, but just thought I’d see if anyone on here knew.

I can’t say from experience or from reading, but my common sense says no – it shouldn’t hurt your bun.

Not really no. There’s actually even debate if Benebac works as a probiotic for rabbits at all, but regardless if it has probiotic effects, its contents are not something that’s harmful.

I listened to a webinar by rabbit vet Molly Varga where she said accidental overdosing is not a problem, the superfluous probiotics just get pooped out unused.
