        Hey,

I’ve got a bun around a year old, and he hasnt pooped since yesterday morning (hes done 2 wees though).

Before that his poops were a bit wet than usual, but I thought that might have been because we changed him onto new pellets about 2 weeks ago.

He’s also been feeling a bit frisky recently bc he’s hopping around me in circles and demanding lots of attention.

I’m not sure what to do because he’s otherwise active and healthy, still wanting snuggles, hopping around and eating, and he doesnt mind when i massage his belly; and our vet is miles away and really difficult to get to.

Any advice on how to get his gut moving again? We’ve tried feeding him some lettuce/grass/basil which he eats happily, but still no poops. I’m not sure what to do here.

        Thanks!

This is what happened to snowy yesterday. He pooped after almost 32 hours. But was urinating, eating, doing his binkies normally. I was crying hopelessly and massaging his belly like 5 times a day and then he pooped yayy. But all the rabbits are not the same. I guess it could have been some gastero problem. Give him good quality hay and limit his veggies so that he will eat hay a lot

Make sure your bun is getting enough water. If he eats greens, you can dip them in water before serving them. Cut back a little bit on pellets to encourage hay eating -but keep an eye so you see that he actually eats more hay. Serve water in a bowl rather than a bottle.

Exercise is good and massage like in this HowCast video is also good: http://youtu.be/JnuxGLa2reg

I’ve had the same problem on and off for the past few years with my bum too. I’ve found having some fibreplex helps I would only give a small amount at first if yours bins never had it. Between not pooping and Gi status I’ve tried everything over the years. After trying different pellets I slowly removed them
completely from his diet and hey presto! (Touch wood) he’s been like a different rabbit.
For now though I wouldn’t give him any pellets and scatter a bit of chopped up veg on his hay. Just try getting as much hay as possible. Also is he moulting just incase he may have a blockage.
              Hope he gets well soon.
