Can a male hare make babies with a female rabbit? Can a male rabbit make babies with female hare?

Did you mean your last word to be Hare, CA? Because male rabbits can certainly make babies with female rabbits!! If they haven’t been desexed, that is.

But hares and rabbits cannot interbreed.

Not even all types of rabbits can interbreed. Like our pet rabbits (domestic rabbits) cannot breed with american cottontails. But the pet ones can breed with the European rabbit (your wild rabbits).

Lol thanks jersygirl, I did change it, I’m sure most male bunnies and female bunnies can make babies, soon the shops will have the ‘Back to school’ range, I’ll be thinking ‘Must get my name down.’

There was talk (hearsay) about a male snowshoe hare being able to mate with a female european rabbit (same as domestic), but it doesn’t seem to work the other way around. I don’t know if it’s actually true or if it has actually happened in the wild (i.e. where feral european rabbits are living near snowshoe hares).

Otherwise, no, it isn’t possible for hybridization to occur simply because the chromosomes do not match up.
