Dear all –
Hello. I’m new to this forum, but I usually go here to get information about general bunny health and care. My bunny, Ollie, just turned 8 last month, and since the beginning of March, he was diagnosed with e.cuniculi. He has cataracts in both eyes; his right eye recently was infected two months ago, but he’s navigating pretty well since he’s been staying at my parents’ house for years. He’s had two treatments, both consisting of PanacurT for 28 days. I just received a call yesterday about his third titer results (he goes for monthly checkups and exams), positive again, and as the vet indicated, “was higher than the previous test,” but she doesn’t want him to undergo treatment and told me to look out for any head tilting, sporadic falls, and constant circling. I asked her whether it was worrisome that the results were high and inquired why treatment wasn’t necessary this time; she indicated that it wasn’t at a dangerous level and she would like to see him in 30 days to determine if he can fight it on his own. Aside from a major tooth extraction, he’s been eating well, defecating, urinating, and playing as he usually does. I’m just an overbearing, worried bunny parent, and wanted to ask the community their thoughts.
Much appreciated!
Also, this is the only vet that specializes in “exotic animals.”
thanks,
K.Ngoc
