        Who has one?

If any of your are on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve likely seen scores of bunnies laying on these little doll beds from IKEA. Of course, I’ve wanted one forever so was excited when an IKEA opened 3 hours away. We decided to do a road trip to check it out and, obviously, got the bed and plush bunny for Elara.  Pretty sure more bunnies are using these beds than dollies.

She’s yet to lay in it but she likes to sit in it and was her bunny whom I’ve named “Brown Eyes”.

So famous. So much wow. Though it was constant treat association to get him to use it haha. It’s not his first choice.

Is it the Halifax IKEA that just opened?

We had to leave ours behind in Kuwait (both the bed and the IKEA )
Was stoked because originally was supposed to move to Halifax right around the time their IKEA opens. But now that we’re in London (for now) we must wait another year before a store opens here. LOL

It’s so great Elara likes her bed & bun. My noob used his bed as a throne and completely ignored his bun. Pffffff….

I’m thinking of getting Panda and Fernando one of those for their one-year bunniversary next month! Friends of Rabbits has a lot of those in their bunny-boarding area at their HQ, and my two had the use of one when they went there for bunnysitting in April. Since I have to replace their Osted sisal rug (which Fernando has chewed two corners of literally to shreds by now), it’d be a good time to do both. How much do they generally cost? (EDIT: Scratch that, I looked it up myself.  US $14.99, a lot cheaper than I thought!)

I had considered getting one for the longest but wonder if BunBun will use it at all! She is so fickle… buy her a cozy rug, she wants the Walmart kitchen mat instead! I may still consider getting one bcz they are just too cute up in their little wee bunny beds!

Has anyone found out if they are made from kiln dried pine? Or some form of safer wood than just plain raw pine? That was another concern I had in back of my head…

Awww…Storm looks so cute and tiny in the bed!!!

Q8- Yes, the one right outside Halifax. Would have been awesome had you moved to Halifax! I could have maybe met Chewie!!!! We usually take a trip once a year to NS to go shopping. My husband was super excited when the IKEA opened (even more than me!). There’s this display case he’s wanted for like 10 years for his collectibles but shipping from IKEA is just nuts. So he finally got one. Lucky too, it almost didn’t fit in our car!

I still hope to move to Halifax. Just need to be closer to the fam in Ontario at the moment.

I thought of getting it for Kurotta for his one year old birthday coming up in August, but the more I think about it, the more I think he won’t use it and it’ll just be sitting there as a decor item. Lol. He just loves the tiled floor too much.

I got them one! Pics in the August Pics thread. They take turns lying or sitting on it, sniffing around it and – inevitably – chewing the blanket, pillow and the wooden bed itself. In fact, the plain hard wood the bed is made of is an ideal chewing object for bunnies; of course, this means I’ll have to get them a new one eventually!

Yeah, Elara’s has gotten pretty chewed. She’s not very interested in it, unfortunately, other than chewing it, lately. My cat has had a few good naps in it.

My Sully looooves his bed. I was surprised to see him using it almost immediately. He’s a silly bunny who doesn’t really chew anything, I was mildly hoping he’d nibble at the bed for the sake of his teeth since he won’t touch chew toys I give him. But alas, he’s a goof and chews not. (Other than the abundance of hay he goes through.)

It’s been great for him in the hot weather though. I’ve given him frozen containers wrapped in a towel as well as plates fresh from the fridge which he doesn’t touch. Instead he just chills out underneath his bed, or sometimes my bed.

Snapped a pic of him lying in it right now :3

LPT, you pushed me over the edge and I got one. Finally.
Spike was indifferent for a few weeks. Then one morning he heard my mother and her aide in the other room, and I left to talk to them. When I came back he was standing on his bed listening, since it’s not far from the door. After that he uses it as a perch, popping up, scrunching the covers and jumping down again.

Hasn’t slept on it, but then he sleeps in his litter pan lately so there’s no accounting for taste.

Sully looks ridiculously comfy. I’m jealous! What kind of bedding can you put down for rabbits? Like blankets and such? I’ve got some old towels I love to give to Dawn, but I’m worried about her chewing on them and swallowing the fibers and such.

Oh yes, he has many comfy perches around my room. I use a towel as the base of his pen and I have the thin flannel sheet/pillow that comes with the best as well as a baby fleece blanket that was on sale at ikea when I got the bed. Fleece blankets are usually quite liked by buns.

Yeah, Sully isn’t much of a chewer so I don’t have to worry about that with him. Maybe try giving them to Dawn when supervised and keep an eye out for whether or not she’s actually eating it. If she’s chewing it but not eating it so there’s a bunch of chewed up bits around then it should be fine to leave with her.

After having this for 5 months Sully’s only taking a few tiny nips at the blanket. Though over the summer he’s pushed it aside cause the wood base is cooler. So evidently some rabbits may not even need the bedding!
