I’m so sorry to hear about Tilly’s condition
It must have been super scary to hear the news. Hopefully the spay will cure the cancer!
It’s something which many first time owners have no idea about, because there’s not much information on keeping rabbits as house pets. Most of the advices seem to come from the times when they were still kept as meat rabbits. It’s horrible how much misinformation there is about food/toys/housing and yes: preventative health care for rabbits.
Many rabbits live in hutches which are way too small, get the wrong food and don’t receive any health checks. One of our purposes as rabbit enthousiasts is to show people what can be done to make a rabbit a happy and healthy member of the family.
We try to advice all the people around us to neuter/spay their buns, exactly to prevent this situation
I hope that you can help others one day by giving them advice about rabbit care, to make life better for other buns.
But first of all: thank you for seeking help for Tilly, and I hope it all turns out okay! Would love to see more pictures of her ^_^
