        Hello!

I’ve got free roaming (when home) buns upstairs. I’d like to adopt a young boy and bond him eventually – keep him in the basement (we spend equal time down there). Wondering if anyone has experience with different sets of buns in different locations in the house? I don’t want to upset my current buns. And I’m wondering how to divide time so everyone gets love Any advice on this or possible cage set ups would be appreciated. Bonding the new guy with the current isn’t really an option, senior v. 9months

I’m a bit confused about how many buns you have! If you already have a bonded pair, then there’s a risk that bringing a new bun into the house could upset them and break their bond, even if he’s kept separately. They can smell him on you etc. My own bonded pair began fighting when I brought a new male bun into the house (now they’re a happy trio though).

If you’ve got a single bun then there’s not really any risk It’s important to make sure there are gates and double bars to stop them ever accidentally getting to each other. You would be surprised by how sneaky they can be, and I’ve lost count of the number of times people have come on here to say their bunnies accidentally got in together and had a fight.

Reading this just made me so happy I stumbled upon it. I was thinking about adopting another bun next year, but I have a bonded pair so now I’m hesitant. Thank you for posting!
