        Hello!

For the past couple of weeks, my bunny has been scooting his litter box out of the corner of his pen.  Because one of his hay dispensers is right above his box, sometimes hay falls out and behind his box (we all know that stuff gets everywhere!!) Even though he has plenty of easily accessible fresh hay in other areas of his pen, he decided he needs THAT hay, and will move his box so he can get at it.  If we can catch it right away, we can move it back, but his favorite time to do this seems to be during the night and the past couple nights, he’s moved the box far enough away that he’s peed and pooped in the corner where his box normally is.  His pen is large, he has toys, and gets lots of attention, so I’m not quite sure what his goal is here.  He has been to the vet recently and is in good health.

My buns also love that hay that falls behind the litter box! It’s like the forbidden fruit!

Some of my bunnies have loved throwing their litter box around. Now the one I have is large enough that they don’t move it around too much.

You can try clipping the box to the side. Google “spring clamp”, the plastic ones should be strong enough (I use them for bunny related stuff a lot). You could also drill a hole in the side of the box, and then either clip through the hole with a “trigger clip” or run a cable tie through the hole and then clip that in.

Maybe try adding a second litter box?

Could you somehow attach it to the hay feeder? With zip ties or pegs as Dana already mentioned.

I second Dana. My litter box came with a clip which I use to clip onto the cage wires. When we first got Kurotta he would try to remove the box but it didn’t work because of the clip so he eventually stopped doing it. The box now has a few bite marks though lol.

Either that or you could try a heavier box?
