        Hi guys!

The bond with Maggie and Glenn was successful and they’ve been sharing a living space for about a week, they are completely in love! As I anticipated judjing by their personalities, Maggie eats all the pellets and most of the veg before Glenn can get to it ahhh! Glenn is the dominant of the pair and there’s no food aggression but because Glenn enjoys munching a little bit in the morning and throughout the rest of the day he doesn’t seem to mind letting Maggie gobble up all of the pellets and veg.

How do you guys deal with this kind of situation? I have been hand feeding glenn a small amount of pellets at breakfast time, but then I have to go to work and do things here and there so I’m not sure how well id be able to hand feed him all the time (as sometimes I’m not there) is there any solutions? As not only is Glenn now under eating but Maggie is over eating!

On a similar note glenns lax eating habits means he just doesn’t get enough hay, no matter what I do, I buy all kinds of different hay includung super expensive fancy ones just to try and spark his appetite but either way he still doesn’t eat enough and he ends up having tiny dark poos and GI problems during shedding months, so I’ve been considering fiber supplement pellets, the vets don’t seem to know much about these so I thought I’d ask you guys, what are your thoughts on these supplements? Do they work? Do they help add fiber ect? And what brands are the best to buy?

        Thanks!

Hey! I can’t help with the supplements side of things… but I have the issue with a PIGGY of a bunny that I am going to be bonding with another after they heal from their spay and neuter.

You are lucky that Glenn doesn’t care – where as mine are BOTH crazy food driven so I worry about food aggression. – but that you run in to him not getting enough and her getting too much….

SOOoo I’ve been pre-trying things…. and one is a treat ball. I put her food in the ball and she has to roll it around to get the food to slowly fall out to eat. This slows her down.
I also just throw the food in so that they have to forage for it – which again takes longer.

This doesn’t help with Glenn being a slow grazer of an eater. What about this:

Feed them half in the morning and half a night to help off set Glenn’s eating… if he’s still not getting enough with his food coming at two times than If there is still a cage in their area, put her food in the treat ball or get her forging for her food, then get Glenn into the cage and close him in so he can eat his food in piece over the span of an hour or so.

I’m not sure if others have any ideas too… as I’m curious as well for some outside of the box thinking for when I have to face something similar too!

            Sorry, I forgot to add a link…
This is the one I bought and it takes her a good 20 minutes to 30 minutes to get it all out… he takes a bit longer… and I will start shrinking the opening soon to make it harder to get out, as its adjustable.
