I’ve read conflicting accounts on whether yucca is safe for bunnies.  Many commercially-sold bunny toys have yucca elements and my rabbit has chewed them happily.  I have a yucca (completely organic, no pesticides) growing in my yard and recently trimmed it.  Can I slice up the branches and offer them to her?

To be safe, I’d say no. There is a lot of conflicting messages online, but it seems the consensus is live yucca (cutting it from nature without any processing) is toxic.

Yucca extract or dried yucca has undergone a process that I guess eliminstes the toxins so they are considered safe. What that process is, and what are the components in yucca that are toxic, I’m unsure, but considering a plants branches and leaves are highways for all it’s nutrients and materials, I think it’s best to stay away from giving any part from your outdoor area.
