Honestly it’s been my experience that Icey would “sample” everything. Why she would prefer what she preferred I don’t know. Bunnies are all different, as you probably know. But everything got sampled. So cord protectors, blankets over couches, denim stapled to underside of box spring, and grids to protect the untouchables. There had to be a layer of sample-ability over, around, or in front of the thing to be protected because everything was to be investigated with her mouth. Tongue, teeth, or both. They are curious by nature I suppose. Everything was fair game. She even sampled the brand new refrigerator on the left lower corner much to the chagrin of Janice. She essentially scratched her initials in it with her teeth.
So she may leave it alone, she may just put a little test nick in the fabric, or she may find it something that she likes to destroy like a cardboard box. That was our experience. A game of tit for tat. “Oh you like this? Well then let’s do this. Oh you are intent on destroying that? Then let’s try that.” What are you interested in and not interested in so we can protect what we want to or can. And sometimes…the thing she wasn’t interested in for years…well, one day she became interested. There are consequences to having a free roaming bunny. No doubt about it. But we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
