Hi Meggery
It might be worth ringing the vets to see if they recall trying to place the IV in this ear first. It’s possible it failed so they did his other ear.
One of out members (Muchelle) rabbit had damage to his ear after surgery that resulted in “dry” gangrene. Part of his ear came away. His ear is now shorter (she calls him her pirate bunny) but it healed up without a problem. Wet gangrene is different and need vet attention.
Since he was so recently seen, the clinic might be happy to quickly look him over for you.
How long have you had him? Is he the only rabbit? Is it possible he received a bite from another rabbit, even before coming to you?
There is a thread in the TECH section that explains how to post a photo? What file type was it? The main issues people face is a file being the wrong type, being too big, or the file name being too long or containing some characters that are problematic.
Posting from a phone or tablet is not straightforward either, at this stage.
You’re welcome to PM me if you’d like further assistance with getting the photo up.
