        Hey All,

We’re picking up a lil lop lady this evening [ hopefully] from someone who has brought her in from outside. Seems to be a Easter gift gone wrong which will make any rabbit owner pretty angry..

We already have two lops, both spayed (1yr old) and neutered(2 yr old), who are amicable with each other. With this new addition, what are the precautions we should take? I’m calling the vet in the morning to get her over ASAP, but what are some things we can do to make her first night comfortable and happy for everyone?

        Thanks!

          Hi Annamatic

Thanks for giving this bun a second chance! Is she a stray (possibly dumped) rabbit someone has found?

Are your current 2 a bonded pair living together or they just have some social time together now and then. Are you planning for a trio in future?

It’s probably good practice to quarantine your new girl initially until you’ve had her checked out. That would give her a quiet space also, to adjust to the sights/sounds/smells on her new home. Especially if she’s been used to being on her own.
How long has the current caregiver had her? Maybe there are some things this bun has gotten used to there that you could bring to your home?
I think I would put down something non-slip on the floor or cage base and provide a good sized hidey box she can go into if she’s feeling skittish.
