My bunny has recently started to chew his metal cage, throw his litter box, and just make a ton of noise all night long . It keeps me up at night and last night I didn’t sleep at all. I know he is probably bored and irritated that he is in his cage , but he can’t really stay out at night. There is no where else to put him in the house, so the cage needs to stay in my room. He was also recently neutered. Has anyone had a similar problem? What can I do?

Bunnies do have a post-neuter surge, for up to a month after a neuter, so that could be making him extra destructive at the moment,

That said, if he has a pet shop cage, it’s not really big enough. Bunnies need to be able to take at least 4 hops across their cage, and most pet shop cages don’t allow that. Is there anyway you could extend his cage, perhaps by adding an Xpen as a front yard? Bunnies are most active late at night and early morning, so it’s important that they can exercise fully during those times.

Does he have any chew toys in his cage? Willow twigs, wooden balls, apple twigs, cardboard. Does he have constant access to hay?

You can also try earplugs for yourself, but its important that you address some of the things mentioned above for his sake as well.
