Either this weekend or next weekend the boys will be going away to bonding bootcamp (yay finally! ) I basically just want to ask a few quick things in the event that (fingers crossed) they do come home a happily bonded.
1. Any recommendations for a carrier that will fit them both (4.5 pounds of fluff each)
2. We may not be able to have a bunny only room for a bit, which means some of the stuff in the room stays. I know to disinfect with white vinegar everywhere and thoroughly clean all fabrics and rearrange everything. The bed is a dust cover bed meaning the whole bed is literally wrapped in a dust cover. How should I clean this to help solidify them?
3. How long should I monitor them when they first come home from bootcamp. So if they come home Saturday should I spend all day Sunday and Monday making sure there are no tussles?
4. Does anyone have any idea how long they could be gone for? The bonder never really said much except that she’ll take them and work her magic, but didn’t really say how long that could take.
5. They are currently grooming each other every day between the cage bars while they are out. Is this a good sign? They never really used to do this much, but now they’re doing it daily.
I’m in the UK but this is the carrier I have. I have the largest size (68x47x43):

I think Peanut and Buttercup are roughly the same size as A&B and this carrier fits them in nicely with a bit of room to stretch out.(Sirius&Luna, this might be a good option for your 3? I could defo fit a Nimbus in there with Peanut and Buttercup)
I’m not sure what a dust cover bed is but if washing it isn’t feasible, how about putting a few drops of vanilla oil or something to disguise the scents and make it more neutral?
I would say when they’re home, treat it like the cementing phase so monitor for 24-48 hours. Expect a bit of dominance behaviour at first but if they’re bonded properly, they should settle pretty quickly.
I’ve no idea how long they’re likely to be gone but when I marathon bonded my two, it took two weeks before I considered them bonded. If your bonder lady is using the same method, maybe two weeks is average?
YES THAT A VERY GOOD SIGN!!! Peanut used to nip Buttercup through the bars and then one day he just groomed her. I think that was a few days prior to commencing bonding and you know how loved up they are I expect A&B to be just as snuggly and loved up
