By this point, I don’t know what to do. The baby rabbit just sits there and does completely nothing for hours. He seems floppy everytime I pick him up, and he doesn’t drink any water or eat anything that I give him. He seems chill, he doesn’t do anything but I believe he is in stress, I’m planning on just releasing him because I believe he’s 14 days old and for what I’ve heard that’s enough for the baby to survive on his own.

I think you should contact a wildlife rehabber. They can tell you what you should do. Maybe they can take him in.

It’s definitely best to get a cottontail to a wildlife rehabber as soon as you can. They have the know how and the supplies to take care of orphaned or injured rabbits. The ones that I know of ask people not to feed or water any wildlife that they find, since that often makes things worse if they are fed the wrong thing. Even water can cause problems, depending on the condition the animal is in.

Cottontails are not weaned until 3 or 4 weeks of age, so a bunny that is only 14 days old cannot be on its own and it needs the help of a rehabber.
