I’m sorry you and your sister lost your rabbit., Buns sneeze now and then, ifor example when they get hay dust in their nose. A wet nose is most often not a sign of poor health in a bunny. Rabbits normally breathe only through their noses, so when the air is humid or the bun has been exercising, moisture deposits around the nostrils. A rabbit cold (not quite the same as the colds we humans get) gives symptoms like persistent sneezing and thick-ish white or colored snot around the nose. The bun can sit with it’s chin pointing upwards and even breathe through the mouth because the nose is blocked up with snot. The eyes are often runny.
It’s sadly not very uncommon for rabbits to die unexpectedly. They are fragile creatures and many things can go wrong with them, and when that happens, it often happens very fast.
It’s lovely that you said prayers for her soul and had her cremated. Your feelings of guilt are normal and, I think, rather inevitable. We always think we could have done more or differently when we lose someone we love. It’s a part of grieving and it doesn’t necessarily mean we actually could have done more than we did. We are only humans, our powers are limited.
Binky free, ****little bun****
