        Hi!

As I start summer classes, I know my buns will be bored with me doing homework.

Do any of you guys have good and safe digging boxes that are actually used by the buns? And don’t make too much of a mess?

        Thank you

I used to use a storage container that was about 6 inches deep and filled it with sand. I kept it on a blanket that way you could dump whatever came out of the bin in the trash can. Asriel loved it.

Never used “digging boxes” here. Didn’t know that was safe or even possible. Ours was a cardboard box monster. She would chew, rip, and shred like there was no tomorrow. Kept her quite busy and exercised and entertained. Of course it was noisy, as you can imagine. And when she was done for the time being she would be running around with cardboard confetti stuck all over her casually depositing a piece here and there as she went.

@Asriel and Bombur – “used to use”…what do you mean? You don’t anymore? And if not, why, what’s up?

hahaha I’d gladly still do it if I had the space (June 9th they go to the bonder so fingers crossed!). We rent two rooms from my husband’s uncle, and until they’re bonded their cages are in the bedroom and all of our possessions are in the other room. So once they’re bonded I plan on turning one of the old cages into a dig box for Asriel because I swear that little man could dig himself straight to China xD

@asriel and bombur- I heard sand was bad for bunnies, but maybe i was wrong! I might try it out and see if they even do anything
@gordo and janice- I have a huge cardboard box mansion i made for each pair and one pair destroys them and the other pair could care less for them besides sleep in them (they are so opposite haha), thats the pair I wanted to get a dig box for so they won’t be as bored as the other pair

Thank you for your inputs though!!

I’ve also heard sand was bad for bunnies. I believe it’s the fear of them ingesting some of it.
