Congrats on the move! Glad Whiskey can have her own space to settle into. I’ve never moved with a rabbit but I have found that giving them too much space too soon can make them overwhelmed and can cause territorial marking. I think it would be best if you keep her in her cage for the first 24 hours. This is so she can adjust to the new sounds and smells while still living in something familiar. After that, I would suggest attaching an x-pen to her cage. Start small and every few days open it up a little more. This way she will be able to expand her space slowly and confidently.
Once you’ve fully expanded the xpen to its limit, use it as a “fence” to give her half the room (on the side of her cage, or course). Then you can give her the whole space. Again, this builds her confidence and makes the smaller space “old hat” and the new, growing space less overwhelming. As for the cage, that it up to you. I’ve read that a lot of people keep the cage available to them if they prefer to sleep or eat in it. Otherwise, you could introduce another kind of shelter/space that she can go to when she wants to rest, eat, or hide and claim as her own.
Good luck!
