Hello all, 

I’m looking to buy a soft-sided carrier for Yoda, as we are flying from NY to CA in mid-June. He currently has a Mr. Peanut carrier, which he absolutely loves . I’d like to get a sturdier carrier, however, to ensure he won’t be able to chew/dig through… his current one has held up well, but I notice he starts to dig at the sides if he’s in there for more than 10 minutes. I don’t want to wait and see what kind of damage he can do on a half-day journey! 

I think privacy panels would help with the digging, so that’s a feature I’m looking into (being able to see outside seems to encourage an escape attempt). So far, my top choice is the Sleepypod Atom. Does anyone have experience with the Sleepypod products? I was also thinking of fitting a portable litter box like this one into the carrier, so that the carrier could essentially be a mobile litter box (i’d put wood pellets + plastic canvas screen + hay in the box). I’d probably have to build something myself though, as the ones I can find online are too big. The Dry Fur liners are another alternative, but I don’t know how well they would protect the sides of the carrier. 

I’d love to hear people’s suggestions/experiences for airplane carriers! Other tips on air travel are welcome, too.
