Our hearts hurt today. Our sweet little Muffin was gently put to rest yesterday afternoon

I posted about her about a month ago. We got her when she was 8 weeks old and she quickly showed signs of a neurological problem. Our previous vet helped her, but I didn’t believe she was aggressive enough in her treatment. It was horrible to watch her struggle to tip-toe across the room, or fall over in her food. So after much medicine and many, many blueberries, it was clear Muffin wasn’t going to make it. She stopped moving at all on Sunday.

It never feels good, but I know I did the right thing for her. Our new vet said that she was starving to death – along with everything else. My children are distraught. She was so loved! We will miss her so. Thanks everyone for your support.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I hope she rests in peace, she is definitely feasting on hay and pellets now. Binkying, and munching on veggies and fruits. I’m tearing up, she looked so cute.

Awww, if that is her as your avatar, so so precious. I am so sorry to hear. Brings tears to my eyes. Over and over again life is so not fair. I relate to watching your little one go through wasting away due to insufficient food intake. My heart goes out to you and your family. Such a sweet innocent little soul. Thank you for showering her with as much love as you could and wanting and trying to help her so much. She deserved it. I am glad she found someone that loved her enough to put forth the effort with time and patience. I was very frustrated with my vet not being able to figure out what was wrong with Icey as she withered away. But from what I have learned here and I guess in general with life, sometimes there are just no answers. That is still a little hard for me to come to terms with.

Again so sorry for your loss of sweet Muffin. Just so precious.

I’m so sorry to hear you had to say good bye to your Muffin. Thank you for loving her so much. EC isn’t always curable. It’s an infection that isn’t yet fully understood. It can affect all organs with a high blood supply, not only the brain but the heart and kidneys as well.

Now she’s not suffering anymore. I’m glad she got to have blueberries. Buns love blueberries.

                  Binky free, sweet little ****Muffin****

It’s very sad that she only had such a short life, and I hope she’s happily binkying free. You sound like a wonderful loving owner, and she was blessed to be with your family! Thank you for doing the right thing for her, it was the most merciful thing you could do for her.
