Is Tiny Friends Farm treats safe fro my bunnies? I tried searching for the answer but nothing has came up. The reason I ask is because my little sister has a rabbit and she swears by them but I know how irresponsible she is so I looked at the back and I found that they use different ingredients in different places and for some reason slight alarm bells went off at that; Even more so when I read the US ingredients since I heard some of them shouldn’t be consumed by bun-bun’s (like the wheat flour and added/artificial coloring).

US ingredients: Wheat Flour, sugar, soy oil, apricots, dried cherries, added color (red 40, yellow 6)

Analysis: Crude protein (min) 6.0%, Crude fat (min) 4.0%, Crude fiber (max) 4.5%, Moisture (max) 10.0%

Honestly, i personally don’t trust any brand of treats. Unless its Oxbow or Sherwood brand, but i know there are plenty of brands that are reputable. For treats, bunnies are super simple. They have major sweet tooth’s, so a simple baby carrot, or piece of a carrot, would be great. Or a small piece of fruit.

The added sugar is the thing i would be most concerned about, the wheat and added colors as well. Plain dried Apricots and Cherries would be perfect as a treat, i wouldn’t bother with all the other stuff. But, then again, i’m more of a naturalistic person. I like natural things, herbal remedies, etc. You can just trust it more in my opinion. I’m super cautious when it comes to feeding my animals anything lol.

Like what Onyx said, you can try some natural treats instead of store bought ones. It would be much safer. There are many companies that advertise “bunny-safe” treats but only a few that are actually trustworthy.

A small piece of banana, papaya, apple, carrot, grape and even the bun’s usual pellets (if they go crazy for these) can be used. That way you can save money (since a lot of people buy fruits for themselves anyway) and be sure at the same time that it’s safe for bunny

              I second what Kurotta said.

I also give my buns some grape stems. They make great chew toys, you can leave them out to dry so they are crunchy or just give it to them as is. They are grape flavored as well! My picky bunny, who refuses to chew on sticks, loves them.

As far as store-bought prepared treats go, I’m strictly Oxbow.

The ingredients are always listed from highest to lowest content. Rabbits are very sensitive to sugar, so seeing that listed as second ingredient is a no-no for me. I agree with above, veggies and tiny amounts of fruits are better options.

Thank you everyone! I stopped giving them to my baby bun’s and hid them so my parents won’t give it to them either.
