Hi everyone, I have a holland Lop and just adopted a friend for him yesterday, a mini Rex female. I have not put them side by side yet to give her time to adjust to my home but last night I noticed that she is extremely territorial. If you try to grab one of her toys or food, she lunges. Even when I was just putting her food in this morning, she lunges at my hand. She is an amputee bunny and of course new to my house but I’m wondering if there is a way to work on this, especially before the bonding starts. She’s very playful and calm as long as you don’t try to take her stuff and loves pets. I’d love any advice on this that I can get. Thanks!!

She’s only been there for one day and she is in a completely alien environment for her, so she’s probably very insecure and trying to establish and protect a home for herself. Maybe give her some time to get used to it and relax, she will hopefully learn that nothing bad will happen if you touch her stuff. Some rabbits will keep this habit for the rest of their lives though. In that case just leave her alone when she is in her cage and play with her/touch her and her stuff when she is outside of the cage.
