        Good morning All!

So, I was scrolling through some of the posts here and one day I ran into a person mentioning Craisins… I was delighted that I can now admit that it’s one of BunBun’s guilty pleasure treats, and I don’t necessarily have to hang my head in total shame for giving her these from time to time. I can totally admit that Bun has a few of these pleasures. Craisins (the whole cranberries); a grape once in a while; dried blueberries (she will also do almost anything for fresh ones so I hardly ever give up my dried ones to her); and probably the biggest offender of them all; Plain Cheerios!

None of these, I give her daily. I have even mentioned in another post that sometimes I pull her diet in so much that she is only given hay and 1/4 cup of pellets at night to clean her intake up a bit.

Occasional fruit is a nice treat, I have read in other sites that fruit is something to think about not giving at all. Added sugars are everywhere and we all know we don’t want to cause our beloved buns any illnesses such as diabetes and obesity… not to mention dental issues from a sugary diet… BUT!!! With all that said, we know we (many of us… I’m sure there’s plenty of people out there who are better at not spoiling their bunnies and caving in to that beggin’ bunny look that just melts my heart) love showering love on our Buns and giving them goodies.

So Everyone, What are your Guilty Pleasure treats that you give your Buns! I really look forward to reading through these!

We love bananas and dried rose petals, of course in moderation and not all the time! And oats are yummy too

As you know, oats are (or were) my own buns’ guilty pleasure. Maybe once they’ve gotten back down to fighting trim again, I’ll be able to start giving them a little bit every so often as a special treat.

Yeah… my gal was a bit underweight when we got her… oddly, even though they were only giving her pellets… but now she is a nice average healthy weight. I’m pretty sure a few of those aforementioned goodies helped get the weight on but now it’s time for my gal to have a bit less… which has been harder for me than her!

Rose petals sound delicious! And, I can admit they don’t just sound delicious, they actually are… I eat them and I love em!

Here it’s raisins, grapes, banana, kiwi and strawberry! But that’s because they get whatever fruit I eat myself. As soon as melons, peaches, cherries and pears are back in season they will be having (and most likely loving) that as well. They are on the heavy side so I limit it to maybe once or twice a week and only small amounts.

Craisens. My two monsters will run you over and stomp you to death to get to a bag of craisens.

I give Sam the odd piece of fruit about once or twice a week – a cherry, slice of mango, some carrot, or a few blueberries or blackberries. We shared a pear the other day, though I had to be careful because he was biting off such big chunks! haha

I don’t know if forage counts? He has either plantain leaves (ribwort), dandelion leaves or camomile flowers sprinkled on his hay most days, which he goes absolutely NUTS for – if I’m too slow putting it out he will literally clamber up my leg & box the bag out of my hands!

I used to give dried apple once in a while but for a long time now my buns haven’t had any fruit at all. I’m a meanie

That gives me an idea – I don’t know if you have Oxbow Botanical Hay in the UK; it has a lot of aromatic plants in it and smells really good whenever I look at the bag in the store. I haven’t tried it yet but I wonder if I should get one and experiment with mixing it into Panda and Fernando’s hay.

I have also considered buying some of the more fragrant add in flowers and stuff into BunBun’s hay from time to time… sadly, I would have to buy them in the special sachets… I know I’ve seen them on a few hay websites, because Bun won’t eat Oxbow hay at all… ?

Bladesmith!!! Hah hah! I just told someone the other day that Bun will smell a grape in the room, find it and tackle you for it! No matter where it is!

The only treats I’ve given Calcifer are the Oxbow baked treats with carrot and dill. I’ve tried giving him fruit, but he didn’t seem interested at all!
