I was filling my bunnies water bowl and he just started screaming. I knew when a rabbit screams it means they are in sever pain or feel threatened. I took him to the vet  asap and they did A TON of stuff to him. They said he was fine. We took him to 4 other vets and they all said the same thing. He will just sit in on the floor and scream. WHAT THE HECK! HELP ME!

Can you describe the tests performed on your rabbit? As much as possible.

Can you also describe your rabbit’s environment, anything that could be perceived (visually, audibly, via scent…) as threatening?

How long have you have the rabbit and how would you describe your relationship with him?

Does he scream in scenarios when you are present and not present?

Is he eating and drinking, peeing and pooping? A bunny screaming “for no reason” is uncommon, but not unheard of. Here’s an older thread about screaming rabbits:https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/148184/Default.aspx

Did he scream again when you came back from the vet? Did he scream while you were at the vet? Does he stop screaming if you speak to him or offer food?

Is it possible you scared the heck out of him and he didnt realize it was you/his water/his bowl until after he screamed?

If I wake up my Blue when he is in a deep sleep and he isnt expecting to be woken up, he will speed run away and thump very loudly with bugged out eyes until he comes out of his sleepy terrified daze and realizes its me.

A bunny can scream if startled. Some buns are more prone to vocalizations than others. If it was just this one time and he’s been thoroughly checked by vets, he’s acting normally now and is eating and drinking, it seems likely he was just startled. It’s a horrible sound when a bun screams, but they can scream and still be fine after. My bun Yohio screamed when I caught him (he was living feral in a community garden and needed to be caught). He was fine for years after. It is a defensive mechanism that evolution probably has favored because the sound is so startling a predator can let go of the screaming rabbit. Thus the rabbit with the capacity to scream lives on and has babies and some of its babies inherit the capacity to scream.

I hope he won’t scream again. My Yohio only screamed that one time.
