I have recently adopted another rabbit. My goal was to adopt a spayed female, but I ended up falling in love with an unneutered male. I went ahead and adopted him.
Both my rabbits are not neutered but are scheduled to be neutered May 31st. I have the pens set up next to each other, with some space in between so they can’t nip at each other through the bars.
Neither rabbit has shown aggression, but Jackson seems like he is obsessed with the new bunny. He sits and stares at him all day. If the new bunny moves, Jackson moves with him.
I scatter Jackson’s pellets and he normally gets very excited for them and will start finding them right away. Now, he takes one pellet and then runs back over to look at the new bunny while he chews. He does the same with his veggies.
The new bunny occasionally will smell Jackson through the bars but just does not really seem to care about Jackson at all.
I am wondering if I should move the pens so that Jackson cannot see the new bunny, or if this is okay/normal.
Jackson still eats hay but only because I moved his litter box and hay rack over to the side that is closest to the new bunny.
