He’s a 2 year old lionhead rabbit, I do comb him but don’t have a premium brush right now. Getting that this weekend.

I just wasn’t sure if brushing him out is enough for a rabbit or are they like dogs where you take them in and have them get a haircut? He’s just such a fluffy little guy.

What breed is he and are you able to upload a picture? Rabbits are definitely not like long coat dogs who require a trim every now and then. Usually trimming or shaving is only necessary when their fur gets too matted and beyond salvageable. Brushing him regularly should suffice

There have been a couple of lionheads at the Sanctuary where I volunteer that had long fur growing over their eyes, obscuring their vision, so that fur was carefully trimmed every once in a while, but otherwise it shouldn’t be necessary to clip their fur. One of my rabbits is a lionhead and I’ve never had to clip his fur. Using a comb and brush on a regular basis should be good enough. When he is molting, you should brush him every day.

Okay, once I get the little furminator in a couple of days I think he should be okay. Maybe a light trimming around his eyes. Usually I pet his hair up between his eyes so it stays out from in front of them.

              Here’s the little man

Oh, he’s precious! But I’m afraid he’s got the wrong size slippers. They look a tiny bit too big for him, but maybe he’s hoping to grow into them?

You can trim the hair that obscures vision, but other than that, rabbits as a rule don’t need hair cuts like fluffy dogs do. Sometimes you might have to cut out mats if they form, but in general, brushing should be enough.

Cuuute! A little furball, literally, with some ears and a snoot. “Fluffy little guy” is right! We had an angora so we had to trim her regularly. But your little guy? Just like everyone said. @bam – “But I’m afraid he’s got the wrong size slippers” – funny
