No, you can’t have any bonding or “play dates” until both of the rabbits are fixed. Hormones can be unpredictable and rabbit fights can end up really bad in just a few seconds.
1. Keep both separate until both are spayed/neutered.
2. You can do some prebonding, such as switching their toys/blankets into each other’s pens so they can get used to the scent of the other rabbit.
3. You’ll need to wait about a month after their spay/neuter to let them recover and let hormones dissipate.
4. After at least one month of recovery and prebonding you can attempt to bond them face-to-face in NEUTRAL space that neither of them have been in. Most people start in the bathroom.
It’s hard to give advice on the actual bonding until you begin. Because every pair is different, the same approach doesn’t work for every pair. But once you do start bonding you can start a journal and get advice.
