        Hi all,

im just curious…and i cant find this info online..hope to get some answers here..
i occasionally will give my bunny apple sticks..he normally will “scrape” off the outer layer and doesnt bother to touch it anymore, sometimes i will put the “skinless” stick near his mouth..he would chew one mouth..then doesnt wan it anymore..

is the outer layer tastier? or his lazy to chew through it?

My bunnies sometimes just strip the bark and then they’ll eat the bare stick a few days later if they fancy it but not always. The super skinny ones get eaten whole like a piece of hay. I think it depends on the thickness of the stick. Plus bunnies are fussy

Yep, mine do the same with willow branches, they strip off the outside and can’t be bothered with the rest. Apple twigs are the same.

my bunny just eats the outer layer and then leaves the wood. I guess the outer layer is tasty

I usually give Panda and Fernando willow sticks; I’d like to give them apple sticks sometime but they’re hard to find in Northern Virginia pet stores for some reason (willow sticks are abundant and cheap, though). Fernando and I are developing a bit of a tug-of-war game with willow sticks; I hold a stick and offer it to him, and he grabs on to it and persistently tugs it out of my hand.
