        Hey guys,
I currently have too much time at work…and I needed something to keep me awake ( I work a grave yard shift &nbsp
I was compiling a list of safe wild flowers for rabbits (long story; I want a wildflower garden and my dad is a gardener so he asked for a list)
But I ended up throwing in fruit and vegetable section as well.

This list isn’t hugely comprehensive, and i know the garden plants needs to be given more attention, but it is a compendium of several other lists I have found.
I know a lot of people often wind up asking about rabbit safe foods so I figured it might be helpful in the long run. I plan on adding in pictures to a separate doc later.

I got all of these off of other lists HOWEVER if you see something you seriously doubt/know shouldnt be on this list, please let me know so I can remove it.

Likewise if I’ve left other things off  of it please let me know!

        Hopefully this link works here.

Wow, cool! Yay for scientific names!

Is the mango tree/leaves safe? I would be surprised if it is, it’s in the same plant family as poison oak!

Our rescue said that loquat twigs and leaves are safe, if you’d like to add them based only off of that!

You could also narrow leafed plantain to safe (or just have plantain in general, since I see broad leaf is on there already!). Also fennel! Not sure if it goes under weeds or veggies, since it’s both!

I’ve been kind of wanting to do something like this, but I want to organize by plant family! I think sometimes we give less variety than we think we are, because we end up always feeding from the same plant family. So let me know if you want a contributor.

Yeah I get bothered by common names because everyone has different names for things!

So the thing with mango leaves is I did find a paper describing the use of milled mango leaves as a food replacement. However, I think it was aimed towards meat rabbits, and if it contains the same compound as oak the toxicity builds up over several years so isn’t seen until later life – I’ll definitely have a look into it!

Yeah I still have a lot of formatting to do and was hoping to sort them by family too, but when I started I only had common names so their Latin names came after (although I would still want to sort them by type -flowers, fruits vegetables etc )
And I’d be all for a second set of eyes on this if you want just lemme know and I can work out how to give you access to edit !
I’m hoping to make a list version and a version with pictures, as I know a list of names can be overwhelming sometimes I’m just trying to figure out all the important things first ?
