Hey I have 10 rabbits so I buy my food in bulk 25kg bags usually. It is a rabbit mix which I thought used to be pretty good. But it has changed a bit and there are ingredients which rabbits shoudnt really have. Now they always have access to fresh grass during the day and usually have hay in their basket and ofcourse their fruits and veggies however I am looking for a new rabbit mix. When I only had 2 rabbits Pebbles and Dash I used to feed them dux rabbit mix from my local woolies. Which they did love. But when the family grew by accident I kept them all and decided to start buying in bulk. Anyhow I have attached a photo of the food I am talking about with the ingredients and nutrtional info. I just want to know if it is an ideal mix. Or could anyone give some advice on a good rabbit mix to feed them. I am planning to buy the ingredients myself and make it up for them. I just feel like they need something better than what they have especially now coming into winter and they are getting older. Thank you for any help

I know the brand and can’t recommend it. Rabbits actually should not have a mixed muesli type food. Often there are seeds which aren’t good for rabbits and it can lead to selective feeding. You are better off feeding a plain pellet. I’m not sure what your budget is but Vetafarm sells larger bags at a decent price and is a quality food. If you want much larger bulk bags I’d look at Jackrabbit or possibly Barastoc pellets. They are more for raising/ growing rabbits but with such a limited amount fed it’s not an issue
I’m sure you know of Oxbow and Burgess excel foods. Both are great quality but much more pricey and I’ve not seen the bulk bags in Australia. I hope that helps Edit: Also look for a pellet that has a bare minimum of 15% fibre. 20%+ is ideal but not always possible with Aus brands.
