Hello I am new to the forum but I have 2 male rabbits 1 is 1 years and 1 is 6 months and are both neutered. Sparky is the eldest and nibbles is the youngest. I had sparky on his own for around 1 year he is 1 and half but wanted a friend for him so I got nibbles I originally thought nibbles was a female this is what I was told when getting him but found out he was a male after all. I am trying to bond them together now but struggling my eldest isn’t liking the new one at all keeps turning his back and ignoring him or tries to fight and seems tense when put together I really need tips please????

Have you done any pre bonding with them? How long have you been trying to bond them?

There’s no real reason why bonding two males would be harder than a female and a male.

As BB8 said, prebonding is very important. Check out the bonding section in BUNNY INFO for more detail, but the steps should be:

            – prebond for a month (swap them into each others hutches every other day)
            – Introduce in neutral space for a very short time, and intervene if they look like they will fight
            – slowly increase the time over a few weeks, until they can spend at least 8 hours together in neutral space
            – monitor them for 24-48 hours in neutral space, then move them to their permanent home, and monitor the for another 48 hours there.
