So I know this isn’t a website for dog questions but I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. My 3 year old golden doodle loves to be outside with me when I’m playing with the bunnies. She eats grass and hay a lot. She didn’t do this before we bought the bunnies. She will just lay right outside the x pens and copy the bunnies. The rabbits used to live at my dads house and my dog would go over there with me everyday to take care of them. She would never eat grass at my moms house. Only at my dads. Has anyone else experienced this?

My suggestion is that you take time to spend time with your dog separately in training more “dog” like behavior such as fetch, tug-o-war etc. That way the dog can understand the seperation yet still have a good relationship with them when together. Natural instincts will kick in again.

As long as she’s happy, I don’t see a problem. Although eating grass might upset her tummy. You shouldn’t let her do that.

Not a problem. Clover thinks she’s Queen of the World. As delusions go, Dog=Rabbit is pretty tame.

I do spend a lot of time with each of my dogs individually playing and training them. I try to stop her from eating grass, but when she sees me coming she yanks up a chunk of grass by the roots and run super fast in a big circles. I think she has seen them running around their x pens and is copying that behavior. She has never gotten sick from the grass.
