I am wondering if anyone else has heard about this E. coli outbreak that is occurring in romaine lettuce from Yuma, Arizona. (USA)

I threw my lettuce away because I couldn’t confirm where it came from, and Fiona is very upset because romaine is her favorite.

Does anyone have more information? Does e. coli harm bunnies like it can harm humans?

I’m about to throw mine out as well, although we can’t confirm its from Yuma. It is from Arizona and California, so its safe it just throw it out anyway.

I buy my romaine and other veggies from Aldi, and I live in Virginia. I saw a map of affected states and I know mine was one of them. There was a similar issue with contamination of romaine back in November/December of 2017. This is crazy!

I live in Canada and I’ve still thrown mine out! Because I can’t be sure where it was brought in from.
And I had just finally gotten over my fear of the last outbreak and had only started buying it again. Ugh.

Seeing as how Romaine is not safe, what should I give to my baby bunny when she is old enough to start trying greens?

Boston lettuce is a really good choice! or the green and red leaf ones are also good.
