First question: FLEA TREATMENT
I know it is not safe to use any Frontline product for fleas on my rabbits. However, Revolution is no longer effective on my cats, nor is Advantage, so I am switching to Frontline Plus this time around — on the cats only, not the rabbits.
My question is, even though I am not using the Frontline Plus ON the rabbits, will it be okay to use it on the other animals? My mind jumps to all kinds of things like a flea from one of the treated cats jumps onto one of the rabbits… could there be any kind of dire consequences?
Second question: THE NEVERENDING STORY OF MATS
My overly fluffy puffball Jersey Wooly, Blossom, has mats again. Bad mats. I groom him several times a week, which is traumatic for both of us. He was partially shaved earlier this year when he went to the vet for GI stasis treatment. It has all grown back, I have used scissors to trim where I can, but it’s such a horror story and it makes searching for fleas even more difficult. My search for local bunny groomers has turned up nothing. I have an electric trimmer with different length blade guards used for human hair. Can this also be used on the rabbit? If so, what should I know, other than using a blade guard, if I try it? Has anyone here successfully kept the mats at bay this way?
Thanks!
