So I was cutting my rabbits nails when I say that ONE nail was brown on the bottom. (My rabbits nails are completely white.) Soon after my rabbit’s nail came off. There was no blood, just a little red spot where the nail should be. Should I be concerned? Will it grow back? Do I need to take my rabbit to the vet? Please help!

It should grow back this happened to Odin. When I asked the vet about it some time later she told me sometimes when they Binky or run around the nails can get caught in something (carpet) and get pulled out or pulled out just enough that it doesn’t take much for the rest to fall off. His nail came back in about 2 months

It sounds like an old nail injury like what MooseMouse described. The dead nail probably fell off when you were trying to cut his nails. The nail may or may not grow back. It depends on whether the root was damaged or not. Wooly just has a nub for one nail that he had torn off a long time ago.
