So my bun was spayed yesterday, the operation itself went well but she’s not pooped since and has hardly drank anything. We’ve been back to the vets today. She was given an injection to hopefully get her guts moving again and she is back in tomorrow. If nothing changes overnight they are planning on keeping her in.
I’m so stressed and worried not to mention full of guilt for doing this to her. I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar thing happen and what the outcome was?

Bombur developed stasis after his neuter due to an infection at the site. He was given an injection of motility drugs, and I was sent home with a week’s worth of motility drugs and antibiotics along with a bag of Critical Care. Little man was fine after a few days. So don’t stress too much, she’ll come around

Thank you for That! I have emeprid and critical care but she’s not taking the syringe very well. She’s eaten a little bit of veg here and there. Just hoping she gets to come home tomorrow, I hate the thought of her staying in the surgery all alone.

Mix it up with a little banana and put it in a small bowl to see if she’ll eat it that way. If she’s eating the veg, you can squirt the emperid on those to get her to eat it. I’ve never syringed Bombur (he’s always on some kind of meds). I always just squirt it on his greens and he’ll eat it just fine. Less stress on everyone haha

I’m going to try put her pain killer on her food for the next few days, Thanks for that.
A little update though, she has pooed all over my rug, never have I been this happy over an animal pooing outside of their litter box before.
Back in the vets in a few hours but I’m feeling so much better about it now.

She’s currently sat eating her greens covered in medicine, thanks so much
