        Hi guys!

Garf is around 6 months now and our vet said he is able to be neutered whenever we’re ready for it we have always planned to do this whether we were going to bond him or not but we’re mid-move right now and so I plan on waiting until we are settled in our new place because I don’t want too much going on at once for him!

Annyyyyway more to the point, Garf isn’t showing any hormonal behavior now about from a little buzzing around me when he see’s me – but I kinda like this. I really enjoy his personality and I wonder that him getting neutered could change this? Has any one ever had their bun neutered and their personality changed in a negative way?

Also quickly, I know they can’t jump for a while after neutering and his little tray is a large storage container.. I’m guessing it would be best to change it to something with lower sides whilst he’s recovering?

My little guys just mellowed out after, except recently now that spring fever has hit and Asriel is humping everything Bombur has laid on xD Asriel was very shy and timid before his neuter and very high strung. Within a few months though he mellowed out a lot. They’re both still pretty playful and they didn’t real lose the core parts of their personality.

For the litter box could you get like a lower storage container? or cut out a portion of it so it’s easier to get into? At the time of their neuters, they had cages they had to jump 2-3 inches to clear, which was fine.

Okay that’s reassuring thank you! Getting Garf a pal is on the cards later in the year so I know it’s necessary to get him neutered.

This is a common concern, but I’ve never noticed any negative change in personality when any of my buns were neutered or spayed. Just the unpleasant stuff stopped. Less destructive (somewhat!!) and no humping, less territorial aggression for the girls.
