Agreed, icons are too hard to see to tell details, really. Can we get a bigger picture of just him? Since he is so calm to humans and needy for pets, I would assume hes tame, ‘wild’ or otherwise. But, you do need to be a little careful if he is considered a wild bun, as youll have to make sure its legal to own one in your area.

I’d also suggest reading up on proper diet for a bunny, especially a baby bunny as their tummies are so sensitive and can have GI issues. And definitely get him to a good bunny-savvy vet to just give him a once over and make sure he doesn’t have issues.

When you say you can squish the poops, do you mean they crumble or they are actually squishy?

Which country do you live in? And if it’s the US, eastern or western? I rehabilitate rabbits in the Eastern US. It doesn’t look like an eastern cottontail to me but coloring can surprise you. How does it act now that it’s older?

Im leaning more towards yes, that he is ‘wild’. But, if it is legal where you live to own them, its possible someone else had him and dumped him. Or even that he was a rescue/rehab/release and although acclimated to the outdoors now, he still sees humans as safe.

My mom used to rescue/rehab/release hurt wild buns, and I am thankful to live in an area where wild bunnies are common (sooo cute to watch!). He looks like all of the ones Ive ever seen.

Super cute. So hard to tell with a really young bunny, but to me, looks like a baby Snowshoe Hare, which is the type of bunnies we have here in New Brunswick. From what I’ve seen they sometimes do and sometimes don’t have white spots. The dark ear tips really make me think Snowshoe Hare, but as mentioned, it depends on where you live and what type of wild rabbits are around.

Just have to say he’s very cute! I have no idea if he’s wild or not but he does look very young. It’s great your mom has experience with baby bunnies so she can give you advice on how to care for them. Sounds like he found a good home!

He does have the colourings of a wild bunny, but there are also domestic buns with this colour. I guess you’ll have to wait till he/she is older to see

They do tend to be a slightly different color in the Midwest. I agree with the others. Without a profession hands on seeing it, your best bet is to wait and see.

It’s hard to tell when they are this young. Right now, his head shape suggests domestic. I think you might have to wait until he’s a bit bigger.

There are many domestic breeds that look wild, but you need to wait for them to grow a bit to tell. The fact that the rabbit acted very tame can be a clue though.
