My sister has recently bought two baby bunnies,
They will be 11 weeks today.
When we check on them today our little girl is very lethargic and has been having poops that are stringed together and also quite mucus-y.
We are going to be taking her to the vet Monday as our vets are closed until then, can anyone offer any advice until then?
        We’re very worried about her.
        Thank you.

Poops that are stringed together are usually caused by the bunny ingesting its fur when it’s grooming.

Bunnies aren’t able to cough up hairballs like cats do, so they get rid of ingested fur by pooping it out. When they don’t manage to poop it out, the fur may cause a blockage in their system, leading to a dangerous condition called GI stasis.

Your bun could be lethargic because her tummy is feeling uncomfortable. Monitor if she is still pooping. If she stops pooping, you need to rush her to a vet immediately. Meanwhile you can brush her to help get excess fur out and give her some belly massages. Getting her to eat hay is also very important as it’s high in fibre and will help get the digestive tract going. Make sure she is drinking water as well.

Also note your rabbits need to be separated and not housed together until they are both fixed.
