Hello, I have a 5 year old holland lop that is dealing with a a case of head tilt that he can’t seem to shake. He had it a few months back to the point where he couldn’t even move. I didn’t think he was going to make it but we took him to the vet and got him some meds and a few weeks later he was almost back to normal. Now it’s returned. He’s had it for a few weeks now. He still can get around but his head is tilted to the point that one eye is pretty much looking straight up in the air. He falls a lit when trying to get around. His downside eye is closed. I have him on the same medication from the vet. Baytril twice a day and albendozale and meloxicam once a day. He still eats and drinks water but isn’t getting any better. Any recommendations on something else to try? I feel so bad for him. Thanks for the help.

Im sorry to hear that. So no improvement on the same medications after 2 weeks now?

How long was he on these the first time around?

Does your vet know what may be the cause of the head tilt? Do they thing head xray would be useful to diagnose further?
Perhaps a different antibiotic is needed?

It took him a few weeks the first time but I feel like there was continued improvement. This time around it seems to just be the same each day. The vet thinks it’s an inner ear infection but I’m not sure if that’s 100%

Sorry to hear your bunny’s troubles. I don’t have any experience but there is a Facebook group called “Help for Head Tilt Hoppers.” Lots of experienced people to help you, I’m sure.
