i’m having a problem with my bunnies, i made the mistake of having them together before they were fixed, Nugget was 4 Bugsy was 7 weeks old and they took to each other like glue. they napped with each other and cuddled while cleaning each other’s faces and i scheduled their spay dates for when bugsy turned 6 months old. however about a month before i guess bugsy’s hormones kicked in and they started fighting. i got them fixed and always kept them in cages where they could see and touch each other and after they were fixed and waited 2 months to try bonding them again and for them to heal up from everything, they were fighting fur flying bad in the bathtub and i couldn’t calm them down enough to get them to stop going after each other. i had to leave them in their separate cages and they were trying to fight through the bars so i re constructed my c and c cages to sit on top of each other (they are each 2x4x2 grids about 2.3 x 4.6 feet) and after another 2 months apart i started stress bonding and switching out their stuffed animals and litter boxes but after they started doing well with stress bonding i tried them in the bathtub again and they immediately started fighting what should i do to help them bond again?

Im going to be honest: It doesnt sound like they will bond. Youve prebonded for months and they still fought the moment they were allowed contact. You gave them months apart to ignore one another and they still fought the moment they were allowed contact. Youve tried stress bonding and they still fought.

The only thing that might help is to keep them out of complete contact with one another. One bunny in one room and the other bunny in another room. Keep them like this for three to six months (its usually two to six, but your bunnies still hold grudges at two months, so you need them apart much longer). Wash your hands inbetween handling. Dont allow them to see one another. Dont swap any of their items. Make them both feel like their completely single. After the three to six months, move them into the same room and prebond for two+ months again. If they still fight after this six to twelve month break, they will not bond.
