I think there are a number of people on here who allow their bunnies to roam free in their bedrooms. I’m not one of them though, so I’ll just give my two cents

The reason why she’s under the bed may be due to being unfamiliar with the environment, since it’s not her staple place of residence. You could try bringing her in more often from time to time and get her used to being there? Then observe and see if she still hides under the bed constantly. As for litter training, she may be a bit confused as to where she should be going in the new room, so I think it’s possible to have some stray pee and poops at first. But once she transitions it should be alright.

That’s a great idea to have her living quarters closer to you . Luna’s main living quarters is in my bedroom. She also loves exploring under the bed. I blocked off half of the space under the bed so that she is always within arm’s length if I need to reach her under there. Also, with regards to bunny-proofing, make sure any furniture in the room (ie. dresser) cannot fall over. I have a tall bookcase in my room across from my bed, but if it were to fall over, the foot of my bed would prevent it from falling flat on the floor.

The only time Luna isn’t free roam is when I am going to be out of the house for a long time. If you move Charlie’s cage into your bedroom, then you could put her in her cage while you go to class, and it will still allow her to stay in your room.

Wick is free-roam 24/7 in my entire living space, with exception of the bathroom which is typically kept close. It’s a blessing and a curse. Blessing because he’s very much a family member and integral part of everyone’s daily routine, but also a curse, like this morning he jumped on his other parent’s face while he was still sleeping in bed. Much to his parent’s dislike, as you can imagine.

Whether litter trained or fixed, I find most rabbits will mark for a bit whenever they enter new territory. When I move from my current place and move all the furniture out, there will definitely be splotches of old pee and poop I’ll need to clean. Wick no longer marks outside his litterbox (with some health-related exceptions and attitude-related exceptions), so while initially it was crazy to maintain, now it’s much better.

I do keep in mind that Wick is not a destructive rabbit, so rabbit-proofing is not a big concern, which is why I am very comfortable having him free-roam.

Millie and Peach live in my fiancé’s bedroom. He has a high up bed so has moved his wardrobe to create a nook under his bed for his desk and stuff. Millie and Peach have free roam the rest of the room with a hutch that’s kept open and lots of tunnels and cardboard for them to destroy. We have scrap link down for the rabbits area of the room so they’re not damaging the carpet with their pee and stuff. Unfortunately they are chewing the wardrobe and I’ve got no idea how to stop that.

Experiences vary a lot in terms of free roaming in the bedroom. I tried it and gave up quickly because my boy would never stop moving around, and I couldn’t go to sleep (my male free roams in my living room instead). I’ve heard some people have rabbits that sleep at the foot of their bed – I don’t know how that’s possible – but my buns would never sit still for an hour, forget about eight.

midnite is older 13 he goes in back of my bed but when i first got him and let him roam free he chewed books, rugs, woodwork wires and esp. my laptop extension cords 3 of them if you do buy the plastic coils and cover the wires its tubing you can get it at lowes or home depot.
