Hi! Im not a bun owner yet and so I had a question if these purple plastic nic grids were ok? (I think I put a pic in here. if not, well ill try to in a reply) The square holes seem to be pretty small so I don’t think a bun’s head can get through them. I was just wondering whether I could use them for like bunny proofing and stuff. Thanks!

As long as you rabbit is not a chewer, that should be fine All three of mine have chewed on their cube grids, and if they hadnt been made of metal, the buns wouldve been able to escape after a night of chewing.

I would grab a pair of scissors you don’t care about and try and cut through them. If the scissors can go through the plastic, a bunny’s teeth will go through them.

There are two sizes of holes on the NIc grids. The ones you should have are 4cm square / 1.5 inches. If they are the bigger ones i would expect a head to try to get through, so be very careful….
I had garden fencing grids which was reeeallly thick grids but only plastic and with two chomps they were through it…. grrrrr.

Try to bend your nic grid a bit. If it boings back into place it has no metal in it.

That looks quite chewable. Don’t underestimate a persistent bunny.

You’d be surprised at how small a rabbit’s head can be without all the fluff. The fluff is deceiving lol. I once had a bunny who tried so hard to get out, she sqqqqueeeezed her head through the <4cm cage bar until the METAL was bent. She managed to get out. That was within the first few hours we brought her home. My siblings and I just sat there and watched her do it – we couldn't believe our eyes.

So I’d say go for metal grids to be safe.
