Under my rabbits pen I usually have children play foam mats with a blanket overtop for the flooring and I was wondering if I could just put those mats and not cover all the mats with the blanket cause it seems like he really likes running on the mats without the blanket. Wondering if he will be harmed if he chews on them. I have seen him nibble at them but mostly leaves them alone.

Chewing it alone probably wouldn’t harm him – ingesting it will. You will have to observe and see if it’s a usual occurrence or it’s just that he is curious about them or something.

I have those mats too and Kurotta has only chewed slightly at the edges about 2-3 times and tried to lift the mat up. Just the edges. So I’ve covered them with other stuff and he doesn’t really do it anymore.

I’d just keep an eye on it. My bunny suddenly decided that she would start eating these mats one day, and I had to get rid of them. But until then they were perfect.

I had these mats and Bindi was fine for a few days until he discovered he could lift up the connector tabs and chew them off. Definitely need to supervise closely.
